About Wreaths Across America
Wreaths Across America was founded by a wreath making company owner (Morrill Worcester) on the east coast in 1992. It started when Mr. Worcester's company had an abundance of wreaths one year. He subsequently had them delivered to Arlington National Cemetery, where with the help of volunteers, they were laid on the grave sites of many fallen heroes. His act of kindness, respect and patriotism evolved in to the creation of the non-profit organization. The annual tribute, occurs the third Saturday of each December, throughout the country. The ongoing mission and theme is to "Remember, Honor and Teach". The ceremony now occurs annually at over 2,700 locations nationwide. Typically the Los Gatos ceremony is the largest and most impressive ceremonial event in Santa Clara County.
